History
Maize Futbol Club was founded in 2009 in response to a high demand on the University of Michigan campus for another competitive, club-level soccer team. MFC has continued to expand since then, completing its twelfth season as a club team and its tenth and final season in the CCL.
For the 2024/25 season, we compete in the Lakes Division in the Midwest Alliance Soccer Conference (MASC). We will be facing a league schedule against the UMMCS, Central Michigan University, Ferris State University, Grand Valley State University, Hillsdale College, Michigan State University, Wayne State University, and Oakland University.
Time Commitment
MFC prides itself on being very student-friendly when it comes to the time commitment for our team. We offer members a chance to play highly competitive soccer, while also having plenty of time for studying and social activities. We hold two practices a week and usually have 1-2 games per weekend. We do our best to avoid scheduling games during home football games, because we wouldn't want to make the Big House look empty when all the fans come to our game.
We also offer an opportunity to play in a winter 11v11 league. This is not a part of the fall commitment and those who are on our team and some who are not are welcome to play. Reach out to us for questions about this.
